Virtual World Hosting Engine

The world engine is a rules set that determines how objects from the relational database—users, Non Playing Characters (NPCs), objects, clothing—operate within the world. This optimized rule set, with the majority of decision paths taken from the database (objects), processes faster on CPUs than Java or XML coding. This Virtual World engine philosophy and design optimizes CPU usage, accelerates the design process, and allows designers to rapidly deliver new experiences in the world in the most cost-effective manner.
Graphical Immersion System (GIS)
The PowerU graphics engine delivers lighting effects such as glare, real-time shadow casting, sunsets (and accurate celestial systems), animation blending, and particle and texture effects—all with console-quality rendering. Users experience an incredibly detailed world (trees and bushes are objects, not painted backgrounds) and true, approachable horizons (not sky boxes, as used in many Virtual Worlds).
Comprehensive Physics System
PowerU provides users with cutting-edge experiences based on the latest technologies. The PowerU physics system is optimized for the Ageia physics card. Projectiles degrade and bounce with real physics rules. Vehicles move and react to terrain according to the laws of physics. Though it is common in console games, few Virtual Worlds or MMOGs have added this level of physics support to online play.
Relational Database
The relational database (and the systems that operate with it) is one of the primary areas from which the PowerU technology suite derives its strength. Each world system has a corresponding table within the database, allowing for consistent organization, updating, debugging, management of vast amounts of world data, and the relationships necessary for the complex combinations that drive recurring play.
Toolsets:

Summary
No other virtual world technology suites have the comprehensive systems that PowerU offers. These systems include a character customization module that allows users an unprecedented ability to tailor character appearance—not to mention unique missions/tasks, effects, triggers, systems that use elements of real-world skill, and artificial intelligence libraries. Collectively, these assets give designers a series of modifiable components, allowing them to quickly construct unique worlds.
